The Theatre Department at Barbara Ingram School for Arts embraces a conservatory-style approach to training students in the dramatic and theatre arts. Our program empowers students to become active creators interpreters, as well as designers and builders. They utilize various, from their bodies as instruments to the lighting and soundboards as their workbenches. We strive to nurture our students' creativity, helping them understand that their journey as storytellers is essential to their art and crucial to the human experience. Our actor-centric training offers an immersive experience, allowing students to explore music, voice, dance, and production techniques. Through physical training and performance, we engage every aspect of the actor’s instrument, instilling lifelong confidence that they will carry into their adaptable professional lives. Whether they become designers, directors, builders, or performers, our multi-disciplinary approach prepares them for success.
